Jamillah Moore - Educational Administrator with Social Justice Focus

With an extensive academic leadership background, Dr. Jamillah Moore is active with the California Association of African-American Superintendents and Administrators. As vice president of student affairs and enrollment management at San Francisco State University, Dr. Jamillah Moore emphasizes social justice issues and ensures students of lower income and from underserved backgrounds have access to quality education. The author of Race and College Admissions: A Case for Affirmative Action (McFarland Publishers 2024), Dr. Moore has a longstanding focus on race, access, and institutional failure. Her background includes directing governmental relations for the Los Angeles County Office of Education and a legislative staff member and policy analyst with the California State Senate. Dr. Moore oversaw governmental and external relations with the California Community College Chancellor’s Office. Based in Redwood City, Dr. Jamillah Moore served as president of Cañada Community College from 2016 to 2021, overseeing programs for 6,000 students. Working within the San Mateo Community College District, she planned, coordinated, and directed educational programs and provided the chancellor with dedicated administrative support.
